Public Access Defibrillator Sites
As well as supporting the team of first responders, SAFeR also funds and maintains defibrillators that are available to the public.
In 2013 we purchased 3 phone boxes from BT in Steyning, Bramber and Beeding and installed defibrillators inside in locked cabinets. More defibrillator sites have been added since then, and more still are in planning.
However, our work does not stop once a defibrillator is deployed…
- Each site is checked monthly to make sure everything is clean and in full working order.
- The defibrillator batteries have to be replaced after a number of uses or 4-5 years. These cost £250-£280 each.
- The shock pads that attach to the patient cost £45-£55 per pair and must be replaced after each use or when they expire.
- Ready kits which contain scissors, hi vis vests, razors etc must be replaced after use and cost £20.
SAFeR would like to partner with individuals or businesses who would be interested in sponsoring a public access defibrillator site for £120 per year.
All funds received go exclusively to the SAFeR charity.
You may sponsor a defibrillator site for one or more years. After 1 year your sponsorship would renew annually on the anniversary of the original donation unless you cancel.
If you would like to sponsor a site, please contact us using the form below. One of the charity’s trustees will get back to you to discuss your sponsorship or answer any questions you may have. We can affix a label to the cabinet stating that you are sponsoring that defibrillator site if you would like to do this.
