Our Costs
Your donation will help provide our Community First Responders with valuable additional equipment to help prepare them for their life-saving roles. Our Public Access Defibrillators are also expensive – pads and batteries need replacing regularly. Each battery alone costs around £300 and needs replacing every 4 years.
SAFeR is a charity and receives no government or local authority funding.
Community First Responders and trustees give their services for free. No-one involved with the scheme receives any remuneration.

Gift Aid
We are a registered charity and can claim tax back from the Inland Revenue for donations which are made within the Gift Aid scheme.
To send us a donation, please download and print our donation form and send with your cheque made payable to Steyning Area First Responders Trust. It would help us greatly if you could opt in to Gift Aid.

Giving Through Your Employer — Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving (sometimes called Give As You Earn) is a simple and tax-efficient way to make regular donations to a charity of your choice, straight from your salary before tax is deducted. This means that for every £1 we receive, it costs you less – the exact saving depends on your tax rate, but a £10 donation might cost a basic rate taxpayer just £8, and even less for higher rate taxpayers.
There are no forms to complete at tax return time, as the relief is applied automatically. All you need to do is ask your employer whether they operate a Payroll Giving scheme and nominate us as your chosen charity.
Not all employers offer this, but many do – and if yours doesn’t, it may be worth suggesting it to them. If you’d like to support us this way, please contact us and we’ll help you get started.
