On 6 February, Steyning Area First Responders (SAFeR) demonstrated life-saving skills to 80 Year 8 students at Steyning Grammar School.

Led by SAFeR Team Leader Liz Bull, and supported by volunteer responders from Henfield and Worthing, the team ran six sessions throughout the day demonstrating CPR and how to use a defibrillator.

The students practised chest compressions on training dummies and learned how to position defibrillator pads, showing great enthusiasm and asking thoughtful questions throughout.

SAFeR will return on 27 February to demonstrate these vital skills to another 80 Year 8 students.

Learning CPR and how to use a defibrillator could one day help these young people save a life in their community
