Every second counts during a cardiac arrest. Immediate chest compressions and access to a defibrillator can make the difference between life and death.
Steyning Area First Responders (SAFeR) is delighted to announce the installation of two new public access defibrillators in Upper Beeding, bringing the village’s total to six. This significant expansion supports SAFeR’s mission to have a defibrillator within 400 metres of every home in our community.
The Castletown area, previously without coverage, now has a defibrillator thanks to the generosity of local residents Chris and Elaine Goodman. They have kindly sponsored a device located on their property at the bottom of the Bostal—perfectly positioned to serve Castletown residents and walkers in the area.
The second new defibrillator can be found on the sports hall in Memorial Park. SAFeR extends heartfelt thanks to Upper Beeding Parish Council and Upper Beeding Football Club for their support in making this lifesaving equipment available to the public.
These additions bring us closer to ensuring that no matter where you are in our community, lifesaving equipment is always nearby. Check this map to find the locations of our other Public Access Defibrillators.
